Top Tips for planning your special day

Congratulations! They’ve popped the question and now the fun begins… planning your wedding!

Don’t worry, we absolutely love planning and have a few tips for planning your special day…

The first steps
Before you really get involved with your wedding planning, there are three things you must lock-in, as everything else slots in around them!
Setting the Date!

Don’t forget to think about the extra things (what else is booked that day? You don’t want the best man to be busy with the grand final when he is supposed to be enjoying your day!

Your Budget

Decide on a realistic budget and stick to it.

The Venue

And of course number three… the venue!

Wedding Style

You want your day to represent who you and your partner are.
Are you a boho, beach, country or classic couple?
Confirming your style and selecting your venue will also help with your guest list. How many people can realistically attend your wedding – with Covid in play potentially affecting travel for some guests it’s also a good excuse to not invite Great Aunty Edna whom you’ve never met! Your budget also helps you make this decision.

The paperwork

Save the Date, Invites, RSVPs (including dietaries).

Vendor must-haves

Locking in all the wonderful people who create the day you imagined. Have you thought about the finer details like a hamper for your bridal party to nibble on during the photo session after your ceremony? Barossa Baskets can be customised to suit your needs and is a nice touch to look after your most favourite people!

Accommodation

Is your venue somewhere close to accommodation options like the Novotel where your and your guests could book rooms and stay together for the weekend?

Transport

You may also want to think about booking a bus service for all of your guests to get home safely.

(Taxi services are limited in the region and there is no UBER service.)

Communication

Most importantly your communication with your vendors. Some of these people you will speak to 12 months before your wedding so itis important to communicate in writing – via emails is usually the easiest so no one forgets any important details.

Confirmations

Before the big day, finalise any loose ends, confirm bookings, deliveries and time slots. This is easily managed with a run-sheet and then it can be shared with all your suppliers so everyone knows what time is allocated for “bump in”.

Final tweaks

You’re almost there! Now is the time to make sure your final fittings and alterations are organised, including hair appointments, makeup trials or other services you have planned.

Last but not least – enjoy your day and stop and take a moment with your partner through the day.
It will go quick, you have so much to think about leading up to make the day exactly right and just like that you will have tied the knot!
